Correspondance Bachelor in philosophy - Université Paul-Valéry Montpellier

The correspondence bachelor philosophy at the Université Paul-Valéry Montpellier offers students both the opportunity to acquire a rigorous and solid knowledge of philosophy and to learn to better reason, better judge and better understand reality, within the framework of a programme that is widely open to the diversity of knowledge and the different domains of human life (metaphysics, logic, epistemology, natural sciences, human sciences, ethics, politics, religion, aesthetics).

The Bachelor of Philosophy programme mainly includes teaching in the history of philosophy, general philosophy, political and moral philosophy, aesthetics, philosophy of science and theory of knowledge.

Throughout the training, cross-curricular courses enable students to acquire skills in modern languages and in the use of computer tools.

The Université Paul-Valéry Montpellier offers the only distance education in philosophy in France that allows students to go on to a doctorate.

Distance Learning allows students who cannot attend courses to prepare for a national degree, bachelor's or master's degree, as well as university degrees.

This type of education is aimed at all students and in particular at those who:

- are pursuing two university courses whose schedules are not compatible
- want to validate a French diploma while abroad
- are working
- are disabled
- are geographically distant
- want to enrich their personal culture

It is also intended for jobseekers undergoing retraining as part of continuing training, as well as for prisoners who constitute a specific public.

The courses are made available on a distance learning platform via the Internet. Depending on the subject taught, these courses may consist of text documents, slideshows, interactive exercises, audio/video files and tools such as forums, homework assignments or online dialogues.
