Les Falaises d’Etretat

Located in Normandy, Etretat is home to the famous steep cliffs plunging into the sea for kilometres on end. These cliffs with their majestic arches offer a unique sight and are a natural wonder to take inif you are in the area!  Take some time too to explore the charming towns of Honfleur and Deauville for a leisurely day.  If you are into architecture, stop by Le Havre, the city touted as a kind of “architectural laboratory”.

If you enjoy hiking, why not spend some time in the mountains described by the Lonely Planet as the “photogenic section of the Massif Central mountains, a geological jigsaw of granite plateaus and glacier-sculpted valleys, puckered by dozens of sleeping volcanoes”.  These volcanoes were ranked by the Lonely Planet in 2016 as among the top 10 places to visit.

Les calanques de Cassis

You know all about la Côte d’Azur and St Tropez, but do you know about les calanques?

This wild and steep national park links Marseille to Cassis and offers visitors a series of white limestone rocks, clear water and arid vegetation rich in protected species.

Cassis in itself is a lovely town with a beautiful port and many restaurants. About 10 km away is the coastal town of La Ciotat, also called “the cradle of cinema”.

You like the mountains but don’t like the cold and snow? Why not spend your summer in the French Alps? Briançon is a sunny and colourful town surrounded by the peaks of the Alps andrecognised worldwide by the UNESCO. It is also a good base from which to explore the area and do some hiking. Glaciers, peaks, groundhog, flowers etc.  The mountain awaits you.

Have you heard of the “île de beauté” (island of beauty)? It refers to Corsica, a French island in the Mediterranean Sea near Italy. Corsica offers varied landscapes: chic coastal towns, dense forests, beautiful beaches and steep mountains.
