Major funding programs for students

Here are some of the major scholarships and grants you should be aware of, most of which are also listed in the CampusBourses database. Don’t forget to also contact the international offices at your home university and at your desired host university in France. Many institutions have their own scholarship programs.

  • Eiffel and Major scholarships

The Eiffel scholarship, financed by the French Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, supports students who want to spend a year of their Master’s or PhD degree programs in France. The scholarship covers the cost of living and round-trip transportation to France. A fully funded two-month intensive French language course may also be provided.

The Major scholarship program is for former foreign students of French secondary schools abroad. The scholarship makes it possible for these students to complete an undergraduate (and in some cases a graduate) degree in France.

  • Mobility scholarship issued by the European Union : Erasmus+

Erasmus+ is the new EU programme for education, training, youth and sports for the 2014-2020 period. The program includes seven current actions from the "Education and training throughout life" programme, Erasmus Mundus, Tempus, Alfa, Edulink and the "Youth in action"  programme.
